I have plotted the location of the oil tank drain and its just beyond the air scoop and when i look at it through the air scoop with the bottom tray in place, it also looks like it has never seen a tool either. this makes me think that my Ferrari dealer changes the oil by evacuating the oil tank with a suction tube. My 308/328 service manual shows the oil volume to be about 9.5 quarts. To change the oil, drain the system, change the filter, add 9 quarts of oil. Start the engine and run for a few minutes. Shut off the engine and check the oil level after about 5 minutes. The oil level should be between the marks on the dip stick. I'm on Ferrari-chat and can assure you there are as many uninformed opinions there as here regarding motor oil in general and Shell Ultra foaming in particular. I put these claims in the same category as the old canard about QS sludging. The correct way to check the engine oil level is to warm the oil up to proper operating temperature. Unless I have just changed the oil, I always check the level after driving several miles. I would say the main problem with Rotella 15W40 is that it's not a "synthetic" oil, although it's probably an ok choice if you plan to change your oil every 2,500 -3,000 miles max. Amsoil 10W-40 would be a better choice as it is a very stable oil (less viscosity modifiers than a 0W).
